Senior Associate

The senior associate may serve as a project leader supporting firm projects and providing client counsel as well as develop project deliverables related to firm assignments. The position reports to a firm vice president but involves contact with and work for other colleagues.

Purpose of Role

Major Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement patient and professional group relations strategies consistent with clients’ short- and long-term objectives.
• Serve as project lead on select projects providing counsel and support to clients.
• Monitor a diverse number of tasks, ranging from writing expert presentations to handling logistical arrangements.
• Organize, attend and facilitate project meetings and teleconferences with clients and advocacy partners.
• Develop proposals and budgets. Responsible for negotiating and monitoring large budgets.
• Manage both support and professional staff in developing project deliverables.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of five to seven years’ experience
• Knowledge of patient and professional group relations, medical education, medical marketing, public relations, and corporate affairs.
• Relevant experience with non-profit health associations and a comprehensive understanding of third-party groups.
• Ability to counsel clients and broad range of their constituents.
• Demonstrated experience creating and leading successful, proactive patient and professional relations programs.
• Strong understanding of healthcare, particularly specific therapeutic areas and the role of advocates in drug development and commercialization.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills.
• Excellence in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Awareness of current social, economic, and political issues.
• Additional languages spoken is a plus

Associate

The Associate position supports project leaders in the planning, execution and presentation of deliverables to clients.

Purpose of Role

Major Responsibilities

• Assists project leaders with information gathering, and presentation and materials development to provide clients with specified deliverables. Tasks include:
o Routinely performs Internet searches to gather background information on pipeline and approved treatments, therapeutic areas, and disease conditions for new business pitches and client projects.
o Coordinates logistics for conferences, client events, and firm under the supervision of a project lead.
o Develops materials such as Q&A’s, fact sheets, post-meeting evaluation surveys, and other materials as requested by clients or determined in the scope of work outlined in a proposal.
o Assists in developing project proposals and budgets
o Drafts and edits content for patient educational materials and newsletter articles
• Handles meeting follow-up details, such as drafting thank you notes, assembling meeting evaluations, and gathering of out-of-pocket expenses.
• Researches, coordinates, and manages translators and translation for projects involving interviews with non-English speaking people
• Develops organizational profiles of patient and professional organizations, and biographic profiles of advocacy group representatives and key opinion leaders.
• Participates in client teleconferences, meetings, and off-site events to take notes and present research.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• College graduate with minimum of 2-3 years’ work experience in an office setting or combination of work experience and relevant internships.
• Strong interest in/understanding of healthcare.
• Strong written, oral communication and research skills.
• Excellence in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Must be a self-starter able to work independently and under pressure, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and exercise judgment and discretion. Capable of prioritizing assignments and working with time-sensitive and confidential material.
• The position reports to a firm associate but involves contact with and work for other staff in this office as well as outside associates. Some client contact is also involved.

Part-time Marketing Associate

The part-time marketing consultant is responsible for the implementation of MK&A’s marketing strategies, print and digital marketing communications, and public relations activities. S/he oversees development and implementation of these materials and services. Coordinates the efforts of the internal marketing team, providing periodic updates to the vice president who oversees the team. Briefs the leadership team when requested.

This is a part-time position, requiring a weekly commitment of 30 hours. The position is not eligible for employer-paid benefits or paid vacation.

Purpose of Role

The part time marketing consultant will work with the firm’s strategic associate and a vice president to implement approved short- and long-term marketing plans to support the firm’s growth.

Major Responsibilities

1. Implementing an approve marketing and communications plan that will build awareness of the unique global healthcare stakeholder relations expertise of the firm and drive new business Enhance the firm’s image and stature within the marketplace through consistent use of the existing brand
2. Update collateral and other materials that describe MK&A and its work
3. Responsible for writing and editing content, design, production and distribution of all
firm publications
4. Maintain and update MK&A website
5. Post LinkedIn, Twitter and other social and digital media content
6. Coordinate review and approval of all MK&A print and electronic.
7. Prioritize and coordinate conference speaking and sponsorship opportunities
8. Create opportunities for Leadership Team members including the president to speak and write to influencers

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

• BS or related advanced degree in marketing and communications
• Five years’ experience in health care marketing and communications or related areas
• Flexibility to work remotely and availability to work on site one to two days a week
